Office Cleaning – Do It Yourself Or Not

When it comes to office cleaning, it sometimes seems like however many cleaners you have, there are things that just get dirty too quickly (or stay dirty!) and you can’t stand it. Thankfully, there are lots of things you can do to take office cleaning into your own hands – keeping your own little area clean or, if you’re feeling generous, extending your new found talents over the whole office.

If you’re an enemy of dust, mini vacuum cleaners could be the way to go for office cleaning. Since a full-sized one is unlikely to fit under your desk, it’s the perfect solution for fussy dust evaders. A mini vacuum cleaner tends to be around a foot long and is often bagless, making dust-busting quick and easy – and it might even fit in your desk drawer. There are even miniature Henry Hoovers around that plug into a USB cable, if you want to get rid of every speck of dust in sight.

One very easy solution for office cleaning is multi-purpose antibacterial computer wipes. Great for getting down into the little nooks and crannies in a computer keyboard, many are also suitable for screen cleaning and can brighten up a dulled screen. Wipes often come in a pop-up dispenser, making using them fast and easy.

If you happen to work in an office full of modern glass dividers, you’ll know that it looks great – you can see what everyone is up to! What doesn’t look great is when glass gets filthy, which happens all too often when it comes to fingerprints. Lots of cleaners just don’t work on glass – they smear and make it worse. Take office cleaning into your own hands with a quick spritz of glass cleaner and some kitchen towel to solve the problem immediately. You might have to be pretty vigilant about it to keep on top of all those fingerprints, but the difference it makes is worth it.

For those getting a little addicted to office cleaning, there’s absolutely loads of DIY advice out there for quick fixes – vinegar, lemon and bicarb can do wonders (not necessarily together!).. This along with a set of emergency cleaning measures (or a set of keys to the office cleaning cupboard) should mean that you no longer have to wait until the next round of office cleaning to have a beautifully clean office space – whether you share your expertise is up to you.

On the other hand, if you find that doing everything on your own just doesn’t fit your personality or time schedule then outsourcing is what you are looking for. There are plenty office cleaning companies out there that you could use. Office cleaning rates vary a lot depending on which company you choose and the size of the area you want cleaned.
